Getting Started: Obtain Your OZZI Token

At the beginning of each academic year, the GW Dining Team coordinates multiple tabling events for OZZI token distribution. Please stop by the table that is most convenient for you.

How to Use OZZI: a Step-by-Step Guide

Once you have your OZZI token, you can repeat the following steps as many times as you would like.

Step #1: Give your OZZI token to the cashier working at the entrance of the dining hall.

Step #2: In exchange for your OZZI token, the cashier will give you a clean to-go container. You will then take that to-go container and fill it with any food you would like from the line.

Step #3: Once you are finished, you will bring the used to-go container back to the dining hall of your choice. At the entrance of each dining hall, you will find a large OZZI receptacle bin. Put your to-go container into the slot upside down so that the machine can scan the container's bar code.

Step #4: After you have deposited the to-go container into the slot of the machine, press the large green button on the screen to confirm.

Step #5: The machine will then take your to-go container and deposit a new OZZI token for you to take from the coin slot. You are now ready to start the cycle over again!

I missed OZZI token distribution at the beginning of the semester. How can I get an OZZI token now?

You are able to get an OZZI token at any time throughout the school year. If you are looking to acquire an OZZI token after the beginning of a semester, you can pick one up from the GW Dining Office.

Please keep in mind: while making an appointment to pick up your OZZI token is not required, it is highly encouraged so that we can guarantee a member of our team will be available to assist you. To make an appointment, either call (202-994-3663) or email (dininggwu [dot] edu) ahead of time.

What is the cost of an OZZI token?

All students enrolled in a GW Dining Meal Plan receive their first OZZI token free of charge. However, any replacement tokens that are needed will require a $10 deposit. This deposit can be paid using Dining Dollars or Campus Cash. This is a one-time deposit that enters you back into the closed loop system, allowing you to repeat the cycle to take to-go from on-campus dining halls as many times as you would like.

If you pay $10 for an OZZI token, you are eligible to return it to the GW Dining Office to receive a refund of Dining Dollars back to your account. No refunds or Dining Dollar credits will be issued for OZZI tokens that were obtained for free.

Can I use an alternative payment method to obtain an OZZI token?

We currently can only accept Dining Dollars or Campus Cash for your $5 OZZI token deposit. No other payment methods, including cash or credit/debit can be accepted at this time.

I am currently participating in the OZZI Reusable Container Program, but I don't know what my next step is. What should I do next?

While participating in the OZZI Reusable Container Program, you should always have either a reusable to-go box or OZZI token in your possession. Please read through the scenario below that best matches your current situation to find out your next step(s).

• If you currently have an OZZI token... give your OZZI token to the cashier working at the entrance of the dining hall. In exchange for your OZZI token, they will give you a clean to-go box that you can fill with food from the line.
• If you currently have an OZZI to-go box... you will want to return that box back to the dining hall of your choice. Dispense the container into one of the OZZI receptacle bins in order to receive a new token back.
• If you have neither... you will need to obtain a new OZZI token to be entered back into the cycle.

What happens if I lose either my OZZI token or reusable to-go container?

In the event that you lose your OZZI token or to-go container, you will be required to pay a $10 deposit to obtain a new OZZI token to start taking to-go from the residential dining halls again.
