- Who can purchase a Meal Plan?
GW Meal Plans are available for purchase by any registered GW student including undergraduates, graduates, law, medical and doctoral students.
All undergraduate students living in GW’s residence halls are required to purchase a Meal Plan.
- How do I choose a Meal Plan?
Residential Students, who will be living on campus during the academic year, will choose their required plan at the same time they register for housing. These students can select from any of the meal plans available to their respective class year.
Nonresidential Students can add a voluntary plan to their account at any time. To request a meal plan for AY 2024-25, please submit a response to the Voluntary Meal Plan Request Form.
- How do I use my Meal Plan?
Your meal plan of choice is loaded onto your GWID card at the beginning of each semester. You will use this card to gain entry into the dining halls and present it at checkout when dining with one of our off-campus GW Dining partners.
Download the GET app to check your remaining balance and add additional funds.
- What is a swipe?
A swipe grants you entry into any of our three all-you-care-to-eat dining facilities on campus. These locations include:
We also offer Meal Deals that are equivalent to one swipe at our on-campus quick service locations such as:
Swipes do not carry over between semesters.
- What are dining dollars?
Dining dollars are funds students can use to purchase food at participating GW Dining Partners both on- and off-campus. These work as a dollar to dollar equivalent - so if a student buys a $5 sandwich for example, they will have $5 taken off their dining dollar balance.
Dining Dollars are accepted at over 60 GW Dining Off-Campus Partner locations.
Dining Dollars do carry over between semesters, and will remain on a student’s account until they leave the university.
- What are flex meals?
Students enrolled in the All Access or Revolutionary 85 Meal Plans will be granted three flex meals per week. These flex meals will allow students to use their swipes at non-traditional on-campus dining locations such as:
- Chick-fil-A - Coming Soon
- Panda Express - Coming Soon
- DH Market, Market Bundle Deals
- Can GW faculty and staff purchase meal plans?
Meal plans are available at a discounted price for faculty and staff to purchase.
