How to Change Your Meal Plan
Each semester, you have the opportunity to change your meal plan if you believe another option will better suit your schedule and eating habits.
For Spring 2026, the deadline to request a change to your GW Dining Meal Plan will be Monday, January 19, 2026. After that date, no changes can be made. If you would like to keep the same meal plan selection that you have this semester, no further action is required.
Instructions
For those looking to change their meal plan for next semester, there will be a different set of instructions depending on when you decide to do so:
Today - Monday, December 8
Changes should be made self-service in the GW Home Portal in the “Meal Plan Hub” section.
Further instructions about navigating making changes through the portal can be found in our Meal Plan Hub Guide.
Tuesday, December 9 - Monday, January 19
Change requests should be submitted through the Meal Plan Updates Webform on the GW Dining Website.
Some Important Things to Keep in Mind:
- Residential students must select from the meal plans available to their class year. In the GW Home Portal, you will only see options available to your class year to select from. However, in the event that a residential student selects a meal plan not available to their class year through the Meal Plan Updates Webform, the request will not be processed and the meal plan originally on your account will remain.
- In order to prevent duplicate changes, students are only eligible to submit one change request per semester. So do not submit a change request until you are certain of your new selection.
- By submitting a change request, you acknowledge and agree to pay the full cost of the new meal plan you select.
- Change requests are not processed automatically. Therefore, it will take some time for your request to reflect on your account and e-bill. Our team will be handling requests in the order they were received and are committed to handling them in a timely manner. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to process the influx of requests.
