Update: March 19, 2020
Dear GW Community,
We are reaching out to you today from GW’s Dining Services Team to share guidance on dining resources available to those approved to remain in the residence halls through April 5. This guidance is intended to help you plan and prepare to have access to food during the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic.
Students are encouraged to stock food, especially non-perishable items, and personal items in the event that you are unable to leave your unit for any period of time. Seven-day non-perishable meal kits are available for pre-order from us at a low cost. Please place your order from as soon as possible here. We will begin making deliveries to residence halls starting Monday, March 23.
For your awareness, earlier this week, as part of the city’s emergency response to this evolving pandemic, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered the city’s restaurants and eating establishments to close indoor seating for customers and provide take-out and delivery only. As this situation continues, the city may implement more restrictions to slow the transmission and spread of COVID-19, potentially adding more disruptions to the way you acquire food.
You continue to have access to the GWorld vendors that remain open and operating. Please keep in mind a vendor’s operating hours may change at any time. A dedicated webpage has been created listing all of the GWorld vendors that are open for takeout and/or delivery orders using GWorld. Many vendors also will accept phone orders using your GWorld card. We will continue to update this webpage as we receive updates from vendors.
Dining Plan & Parking Reimbursement
To give you more flexibility with your dining options, you may request a reimbursement of any remaining dining plan funds. Additionally, If you paid for a parking permit and no longer need it, you may also request a prorated refund. To request either or both reimbursements, please complete this form.
We realize that these are unsettling times. We want to let you know that we are here for you. If you have any questions about food availability during the coming weeks, please email [email protected].
Stay healthy and well,
GW Dining Services Team
